Most companies have dress codes. In San Francisco, we expect dress codes to be along the lines of "professional" or "business casual." Many companies even have restrictions regarding how long a woman's skirt must be or how much of her shoulders should be covered up.
Unfortunately, there are some businesses who suggest dress codes with the intention of objectifying or humiliating their employees. One woman just filed a sexual harassment lawsuit against her former boss after he suggested a dress code that was geared toward having women wear as little as possible.
According to the sexual harassment lawsuit, the boss told the woman that she should follow a dress code that included mini-skirt Monday, tube-top Tuesday, wet t-shirt Wednesday, no bra Thursday and bikini top Friday.
Unfortunately, his harassment did not end there. The boss repeatedly asked the woman about the size of her breasts and routinely commented on them in front of other employees. He also slapped her bottom and requested oral sex.
Despite requests to stop, the man continued harassing the woman. When she requested to take time off to go to the doctor, he offered to give her a mammogram for free, and he said he could give her a recipe for sex cake to make her feel better. The boss also told the woman that he was installing a shower at their company so they could use it together.
When the woman formally reported the sexual harassment to the company, she was fired. At this point, she amount of damages she is seeking is undisclosed.
