The show the "The Price is Right" is one of the longest running games still in production in California. Although the show appeals to a large number of viewers who anxiously wait to see which lucky contestant will win the vacation getaway or sporting package that beautiful models so prominently promote.
The show may be popular, but two of the show's producers are not. The two producers were recently named in a sexual harassment lawsuit filed in the Los Angeles Superior Court.
The civil suit was filed by one of those beautiful models after she felt like she was forced to leave the show because of a hostile work environment that began in 2009 and caused an "extreme physical reaction to the stress," as written in the legal documents.
The complaint recounted an instance in which one of the producers barged into her dressing room while she was partially nude, changing after the show. Instead of leaving the room, the producer berated her for not wearing a microphone, something that she had no control over.
After the extreme physical reaction to the stress, the model filed a formal complaint with the show's Human Resources department. After the complaint, her situation worsened to the point that she was forced to submit a resignation and file another complaint, this time with the California Department of Fair Employment and Housing.
Jobs can be stressful, but no one should endure stress created by a hostile work environment or a superior who sexually harasses their employees. If you are in a situation that you think may be considered harassment, an attorney can help you determine your options and what path would benefit your future and protect your interests.
